Champions Programme
Our Champions Programme creates champions, not only on the basketball court, but in life. Annually, our Community Coaches visit over 50 schools for a four-weeks instilling our 4 Champions Programme Pillars (Goal Setting, Nutrition, Active Lifestyles, and Values) as well as teaching the basic fundimentals of basketball to children aged 5-12 years. This is a free programme for schools with the SKY Sport Breakers securing funding each year to provide this service. Any Auckland schools interested in the opportunity should email communitycoach@nzbreakers.co.nz
Breaker Experience
School and community groups come along to our purpose-built training facility and experience what it is like to be a Breaker for the day. Each group watches training from side-line seats, have the chance to test their skills on court with our coaches and meet some of the players. All participants receive a basketball and player skills booklet to take home.
Breaker Ball
In partnership with the Basketball Development Trust we run a series of Breaker Balls throughout the season where the team head out to local recreation centres to play in an 'exhibition style' game against the schools. Along with giving schools the opportunity to play against the SKY Sport Breakers, students will have a chance to win prizes, get photographs and signatures from the players in their own player skills booklets. All the school needs to cover is transport to and from the facility
