About NZ Breakers
The SKY Sport Breakers roared into life on October 1 2003, and over the years the Breakers have established themselves as a club who do things differently - the club values of One Team + Courage + Integrity = Champions are emblazoned on the wall of the Breakers' training facility and is the glue that binds the club together.
We are the only team from outside of Australia to compete in the National Basketball League. In 2011 the Breakers won their first NBL championship title, becoming the first New Zealand first-grade team in any sport to win an Australian-based sporting championship. We then defended this title in 2012, 2013 and 2015 making us 4-time ANBL Champions.
Junior Breakers
Junior Breakers is the official grass roots arm of the SKY Sport Breakers, providing programmes and camps to inspire the community’s basketball stars of the future.
We are a membership based organisation and cater for girls and boys aged 5-12yrs.
Our programmes focus on basketball fundamentals in a fun and encouraging environment and are led by our highly experienced coaches at the Breakers official training facility in Mairangi Bay.
Breakers Community
The club’s commitment to on court success is reflected in its active role in the community, with thousands of basketballs and coaching manuals distributed every year into local schools, and the Breakers Atlas Place home base being filled every day by the next generation of future Breakers.
Every member, every sponsor and every fan is part of the team, and part of our family. We are proud to represent you both on the court and in all the work we do in the community as part of the Breakers club, and hope that you are just as proud to be part of the Breakers too.
